Dear Ones,
We had a wonderful Bible Study tonight. We had 6 present. Brother Dewey, Denise Tarr, Brother Albert, Sister Barbara Jean, Brother Roy & Sister Dawn.We sang "I Never Knew Love", and "Heavenly Sunlight". Brother Dewey prayed a sweet prayer. Brother Roy got up and began to read the Holy Word. We're studying I Samuel chapter 4,5,6, & 7. We studied how the Philistines army slew the people of Israel.It seemed like they were leaning on themselves more than God.Eli lost his two sons and daughter in law and died himself after hearing this.The Philistines then took the ark of God and placed it in the house of Dagon(their idol).The idol Dagon crashed to the earth, only the stump was left.The Philistines were now afraid of the ark of the Lord. they returned the ark of the Lord with a trespass offering. They sent it to Beth-shemesh to one Joshua. "And he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter." chp.6 verse 19In chapter 7, "And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only:and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines." chp. 7, verse 3 "And the children of Israel said to samuel, Cease not to cry unto the Lord our God for us,that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines." verse 8 And burnt offerings were made. "And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel." verse 13 We really enjoyed the reading tonight. we love to be together and praise the Lord! We sang "Hide me, Rock Of Ages" and had our union prayer. Such humble pretty prayers reaching up to Heaven. Thank you Jesus!Folks please keep us in your prayers.Brother Marshall needs our prayers, as well as his daughter, Marsha Lynn.Sister Christine needs our prayers also.So many are sick and many more are not Sanctified and need to know their Savior. We love you all.
